Dr. Walid ElMoudir is the Principal Consultant at ChemProcess Consulting & Services Ltd. and serves as the official representative of Optimized Gas Treating, Inc. (Texas, USA) across the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Cyprus.

Holding a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering with distinction, as well as a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems Engineering, Dr. ElMoudir is a registered professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan and Alberta. Additionally, he holds a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute.

With twenty years of experience in chemical plant design, operation, optimization, and troubleshooting, Dr. ElMoudir has contributed to numerous engineering studies and global projects in carbon capture, gas treating, and chemical purification. He is also the inventor of a patented solvent purification system designed for carbon capture applications and has authored/co-authored over 25 technical publications.

Recognized for his expertise, Dr. ElMoudir was selected as Conference Chairperson for the Carbon Capture Technology Expo North America in Houston, Texas, taking place from June 25-26, 2025. He is also a Foundation Member of the International CCUS Technology Innovation & Cooperation Organization, a collaboration between China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Kazakhstan National Oil, and other industry leaders. Dr. ElMoudir has contributed to research at both the University of Calgary and the University of Guelph. He currently serves as a reviewer for renowned journals, including the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering (Wiley), Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology (Wiley), and Gas Science and Engineering (Elsevier).
