FROM COMMITMENT TO CONSTRUCTION

Carbon Capture Canada, the country's national CCUS convention, returns to Edmonton on September 14 - 16, 2027, as Canada's carbon management sector moves into full-scale delivery. After years of planning, policy development, and project agreements, attention has turned to building the capture, transport, storage, and carbon removal infrastructure that will define the next decade.

Federal and provincial governments have committed long-term support through 2035, giving project developers and investors the certainty needed to move forward. Across Alberta's industrial heartland, projects are advancing toward construction and operation, led by the Pathways Project, one of the world's largest carbon capture and storage initiatives.

Globally, CCUS continues its shift from ambition to execution as final investment decisions translate into steel in the ground. How Canada delivers at scale, from industrial decarbonization and low-carbon fuels to carbon removals and long-term storage, will depend on sustained collaboration across industry, governments, and financial institutions to keep CCUS a viable, investable, and essential tool for meeting climate objectives in an increasingly complex global landscape.

As a pioneer in in the low-carbon economy, Canada has established huge fund support for low-carbon technology development.
