Erik is CEO of the regional multi-utility Växjö Energi operating several district energy grids, a power grid, wind and solar, and a broadband net. The Växjö region is in south of Sweden in an active forestry region with many wood product industries. Växjö city was awarded the European Commission Green Leaf award 2018 as role model for sustainable development. Växjö Energi turned fossil free in 2019, sourcing regional biomass residues. Since then, Växjö Energi is pursuing its CCUS initiative.
Erik has background in infrastructure business with Gotaverken, Aker Kvaerner, ABB and Alstom with positions held in Scandinavia, France and US as project manager, R&D Director, General Manager (P&L) and APC Director at the global level.
Erik was in the Sounding Board of the Danish Greensand CO2 storage project up until inauguration in 2023. Växjö Energi took lead in the formation of the CO2 hub CNETSS and has been promotor of the Norwegian storage JV Northern Lights.
