2025 Short Course Workshop Options

Workshop 1: Plant Design & Simulation with ProTreat

Decarbonizing heavy-emitting industries requires skilled professionals who can design and simulate amine-based carbon capture systems. This intensive workshop equips engineers, plant designers, and operators with the practical skills needed to make informed design decisions.
Participants will gain hands-on experience using ProTreat®, a powerful rate-based simulation tool from Optimized Gas Treating, Inc., to enhance their capabilities in design, optimization, and troubleshooting of carbon capture processes.

Workshop 2: CMG - What happens to the CO2 after it's captured?

As the energy sector transitions to low-carbon solutions, carbon capture and storage (CCS) plays a vital role in achieving sustainability goals. This seminar explores the full CCS lifecycle—from CO₂ capture and surface transport to wellbore injection and subsurface storage. It delves into various storage types, CO₂ behavior, and key risks such as cap rock integrity and groundwater contamination. Emphasis is placed on simulation for optimizing operations, managing risks, and regulatory compliance. The program also highlights integrated surface and reservoir modeling, real-time monitoring technologies, and case studies that demonstrate how simulation enhances safe and efficient CO₂ storage.
