Award Judges 2023

Greg Maidment is the Director of Operations and Applied Research for Carbon Management Canada (CMC), responsible for the safe and efficient operation of methane monitoring, carbon  capture, utilization, storage (CCUS) and subsurface monitoring testing facilities. Greg manages projects to demonstrate technology-focused emissions reduction solutions and supports the CMC team as well as companies, investors, and governments in understanding and implementing emissions reduction solutions.  

Two decades ago, Greg began his geophysics career in oil and gas and has progressed through roles in exploration and scientific best practices groups. His focus has been expanding the impact of geosciences on business decisions and promoting multidisciplinary approaches. Greg has worked to build and enhance high-performing teams throughout his career, and at CMC leads the teams responsible for technology development in subsurface monitoring and methane detection.

Greg’s holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business in addition to his B. Sc. in geophysics.
