Bob Slettehaugh

Bob Slettehaugh is the Director of Carbon Capture & Carbon Removal for Kiewit, a North American engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm with roughly $12 billion in annual revenue. He has worked in the carbon capture field for over 20 years and has witnessed the maturation of industry technologies. Bob’s role includes positioning Kiewit as the market leader in carbon capture and removal, building relationships with technology providers and developing a pipeline for EPC projects by winning initial engineering projects. Among his other duties, Bob serves as a sponsor for the Department of Energy carbon capture and carbon removal projects Kiewit is supporting.

Kiewit is actively performing and pursuing projects in power (coal, natural gas), oil, gas and chemical (hydrogen, gas processing), industrial (cement, steel, ethanol, ammonia), as well as direct air capture. Current activities range from screening evaluations to front-end engineering design (FEED) resulting in firm fixed pricing, as well as pilot plants. Kiewit uses a technology neutral approach to accommodate all scenarios and quickly adapt to new technology innovations. Kiewit has strong relationships with major carbon capture technology providers, both major commercial solutions providers as well as new, lower technology readiness level (TRL) technology providers. These relationships allow us to provide the most effective and efficient solutions for our clients and their objectives.
