Conference Speakers

Sean McCoy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary and a Transition Accelerator Fellow. He has 20 years of experience in CCS and emissions reduction technology assessment, energy systems modeling, and policy analysis in Canada, the United States, and Europe. His current research portfolio focuses on carbon dioxide removal approaches (e.g., direct air capture), CO₂ conversion technologies, and integration of hydrogen in the energy system. Sean received his Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a BASc from the University of Waterloo in Environmental Engineering (Chemical Specialization).
