Philippe is Manager of the Eco-efficient Process Development program at CanmetENERGY, Natural Resources Canada. He has over 25 years of experience in applied energy and environmental research in various industries including oil and gas, pulp and paper, chemicals and food industries, both in the private sector and at Natural Resources Canada. Philippe has been with CanmetENERGY in Varennes (QC) for 21 years working on deep decarbonisation strategies in energy-intensive industries using clean energy sources and technologies. His current work focusses on the systematic evaluation of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies, their energy, economic and environmental impacts, how they can be implemented at industrial sites, and how CCUS can be deployed in Canada to help achieve carbon neutrality. Philippe is co-leading the development of a National CCUS Assessment Framework for Canada Through a coordinated effort between governments, academia and industrial stakeholders, the Framework is using the best available data and modeling methods to create a fully integrated model that incorporates all the technological components required for CCUS planning at national and regional levels.
